'Not Noah's Animals'

Our building is getting new carpet and so we had to box everything up, books, files, nearly everything had to be put into boxes. As difficult as all that is, it's also a great time to purge files and so I did. I ran across an e-mail my husband sent me in November 2005. I think I recall that we got a lot of rain during that season, which is not anything like this season when we haven't had enough. This is so funny, I had to put it in my blog. Enjoy.

"One dog (Penny) and six cats, but none have the courage of Noah's animals. We just had a frog strangler storm and I wish we had a video camera to film what went on around here. The six-foot-wide ditch behind the house was two feet deep in rapids, because the water was moving so fast, some of it was trying to jump over the water in front of it. Mag Wheels was slinking around like a skunk at a picnic and doing her screaming, growling thing. Danny was looking for a hole to climb into with Mags, so I picked him up with her and tried to stick her in a cabinet which wasn't the right one, so out she came and she continued her whining. Penny (brave doggy) couldn't believe her eyes, a cat in slow motion, easy target for her! I tried to sit down with Danny, but Zoe (Queen of all cats) ran under my recliner, only to be smashed when I jumped up to protect Mags from Penny. I didn't make it to Mags in time to help her, but Penny was distracted by the hail hitting the glass door and sides of the house, whew! Meanwhile, the old man Chaiyim maintained his laid-backness and slept through the whole three-ring circus going on around him. Rachel (Pretender-Queen Cat) rattled the tea pots on top of the kitchen cabinets, as she flew her wide rear end from the table to the cabinets (quite a feat for a 10-year old mama cat). The storm is over, the ditch has drained and everyone but me is asleep. I don't know how Noah did it with all those animals!"
